ANNECY 2010
Friday, June 11th, 2010Hi to all!
Well i am at annecy at the moment-
as usual it is crazy and filled to the brim with interesting programs, screenings and events. For those who yet do not know of the ANNECY film festival, lets just say that it is the biggest festival for short animation in the world. This year, they are celebrating the 50Th anniversary of the festival.
As is the case every year you have a lot of the stars from the animation world in the festival- like the creators of the SIMPSONS, David Silverman and Matt Groening, also Bill Plimpton and allot of other big names…
Of the films i have seen so far i would give a big thumbs up to
OLD FANGS-A short animated film done by Adrien Merigeau and Alan Holly from Ireland.
I thought the film had a brilliant visual style and is really well made- in my opinion its one of the favourites for the top prize here at ANNECY- so check it out.The film was also shown at SUNDANCE and will do great in this festival season if you ask me..
talk to you all soon, when i will post a behind the scenes report of the new film from Wes Anderson FANTASTIC MR. FOX- it was a cool presentation by Allison Abbate, the film producer, so keep your eyes opended for that one:)

Our own Milivoj Popovic has been selected for the premium showcase book of the CG world, the EXPOSE book from BALISTIC PUBLISHING.
His image was selected from over 6000 submitted from all over the world. congratulations!

Well, we are very proud to say that our own Milivoj Popovic has been shortlisted for the latest EXPOSE book
The book is a showcase of the world best CG achievements of the year and features the very top of Cg artists. Even to be shortlisted from over 6000 images that were submitted for this issue is a great honour. Congrats Milivoj, and fingers crossed!

You can find the image and the animation of Bhaktivedanta Swami here. This is the second time the work of lemonade3d artists has been showcased in such promotional material. The first was on the Newtek Lightwave brochure a year ago.
FATHER project
Friday, January 22nd, 2010Last year i was invited to the ITFS Stuttgart film festival pitching forum- We had the chance to present our new project and to hang out with some cool dudes- unfortunately, we did not win anything but fortunately a great project did win- It was a Bulgarian film called “Father” produced by Compote collective. I hanged out with the guys from Compote and went home thinking, what a nice project and what nice people…Imagine my surprise when a few months ago i got a mail from the guys at Compote asking us to participate, and create one of the five stories the film will be made out of! The deal got even sweeter when i found out that Phil Mulloy is the filmography consultant! In the end, it all made sense when BONOBO studio agreed to co-produce the film
Here is a postcard promo material for the film! It speaks for it self, so i will explain no more…Looking forward to my trip to Sofia in a months time to meet up with the guys and start work on the project!

I had the honor and pleasure to be a part of the delegation that met with the Governess at a formal lunch. I am hopeful that this meeting will bring about positive change and open up new opportunities for the visual arts in Split.

Gradonačelnik je prihvatio sugestije, obećao zagovor naprednim idejama te pomoć mladim i perspektivnim kulturnim „ambasadorima“ Splita i Hrvatske. Istaknuo je kako je potrebno da se Hrvatska i Kanada povežu i na lokalnim razinama te iskazao nadu u buduću veću povezanost Splita s kanadskim gradovima. |
