The short has won its last award at Neum film festival, for BEST DESIGN just a month ago!- this is its 5th award so far!:) The award goes to the films illustrator Svjetlan Junaković, who was responsible for the visuals in the film.
MY WAY wins in Slovenia
Monday, June 28th, 2010“My Way”, a film directed by Veljko Popovic from lemonade3d and produced by BOLD studio zagreb won best animated film award at Festival 600 in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

I am proud to say that “MY WAY“, short animated film directed by Veljko Popovic from Lemonade3d has been selected for the official short animation competition of ANNECY! The selection committee reviewed almost 2000 films from 67 countries!
ANNECY is the world’s largest event dedicated to animation, and one of the most prestigious festivals of animated film in the world.

“My Way” wins best film!

This weekend saw the first festival of Croatian animated film, held in Zagreb at the Europa theater. The event lasted for two days and had a program that showcased the short animated film production in Croatia in the last two years. The award for the best film went to the short film “MY WAY”, produced by BOLD studio and directed by Veljko Popovic (me), with the visuals done by Svjetlan Junakovic. Besides this the festival jury awarded Svjetlan Junaković with the diploma for the best design! It was a great evening for our team and i hope its a start of a great festival season!

About a year ago the good people of BOLD studio Zagreb asked me to direct a short film they wanted to make based on the book by Svjetlan Junakovic called “my way”- I fell in love with the illustrations made by mr.Junakovic and immediately said yes!(be shure to follow the link to his online portfolio- you’ll find some great stuff there)
I am sooo happy to say that the film is finished and proud to invite you to join me for the movie premiere at the Festival of Croatian film in Zagreb 20-21.02 2010 at the “Europa” cinema. I will post a short clip from the film in a few days, but for now, here are a few stills….
I will use this opportunity to thank the great crew at BOLD studio zagreb for the best job experience ever:)- If only there were more of you out there….
